storytelling in general (a first assignment)

part 1

                                                Keeper

In the year 3000 in a dirty alley, a young boy looks up at an old, abandoned building.  What he sees is beyond the human eye.  In a city crowd, an old man tries to push against the flow of traffic; he appears to be looking for something or someone.  Blinking, turning and running from the building, the boy collides with the old man and falls to the footpath.  The man pulls the boy towards him.  They lock eyes. “You can see them too.”

 part 2

Tick tap toe

The sound of a rusty bus engine booming and chugging in the countryside, driving through a dark town.  In the bus there is no-one, except for a girl who is looking out the window and a mystery guy who is sitting next to her reading a book.

The bus pulls over, then the girl realises that this is her stop.  She stretches her arms up above her head because she’s been there for many hours.  After that, she goes down to get her luggage.  The guy closes his book. As he stands up, the book drops down to the floor.

When she sees the book next to her, she grabs the book and hands it to the guy.  She hands the book to the guy but he has already vanished into thin air.

As she steps out, the mystery guy is not to be found.  Holding his book, she stares at the front cover and realizes that it has her name on the cover.
